Overview
- Discover Business & Customer Needs
- Work with Product, Business, Marketing, Operations, and other stakeholders to identify business opportunities and customer pain points.
- Analyze customer journeys across key e-commerce touchpoints: product discovery, search, promotion, booking/purchase, payment, order management, and after-sales.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirement discovery sessions to uncover the real problems behind business requests.
Requirements
- Translate business needs and customer insights into clear, scalable, and actionable product requirements.
- Define user stories, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, business rules, workflows, and edge cases.
- Analyze complex e-commerce scenarios including pricing, promotion, product availability, inventory, payment, order lifecycle, cancellation, refund, and customer eligibility.
- Break down complex requirements into well-structured features that development teams can confidently build and test.
- Partner with Product & Technology
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers/Owners, UX/UI Designers, Solution Architects, Developers, QA, and Data teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support product discovery, solution design, backlog refinement, sprint planning, UAT, and release readiness.
- Clarify requirements and business logic throughout development, ensuring the delivered solution matches the intended customer and business outcomes.
- Identify gaps, dependencies, risks, and potential impacts across connected systems and customer journeys.
- Improve the E-commerce Experience
- Analyze user behavior, business performance, and product data to identify opportunities for improving conversion, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
- Challenge assumptions and propose better ways to solve customer and business problems.
- Continuously look for opportunities to simplify journeys, remove friction, and create more seamless digital experiences.
- Drive Cross-functional Alignment
- Facilitate discussions between business and technology teams to build a shared understanding of product goals and requirements.
- Communicate complex business logic clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment on scope, priorities, expected outcomes, and delivery timelines.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in E-commerce, Digital Product, Marketplace, Booking, Travel, Retail, or Consumer Platforms.
- Strong experience in requirements analysis, user stories, functional specifications, business rules, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Good understanding of e-commerce customer journeys and digital product lifecycle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex business requirements into practical solutions.
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum product and engineering teams.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Nice-to-have
- Experience with E-commerce platforms, Travel/Booking platforms, Marketplace, Loyalty, Payment, or Order Management systems.
- Understanding of API, system integration, microservices, data flows, or other technology concepts.
- Familiarity with product analytics and tools such as GA4, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Power BI, or equivalent.
- Experience working with BPMN, UML, wireframes, or process/system modeling.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise or multi-business ecosystems is a plus.
