Overview

  • Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and people targets.
  • Build and standardize the manufacturing management system, including process maps, SOPs, work instructions, shopfloor standards, control points, responsibility matrix, escalation rules, daily management routines, and performance review mechanisms.
  • Establish strong shopfloor governance through daily production meetings, SQDCM review, OEE loss review, issue escalation, corrective action tracking, 5S, standard work, and disciplined follow-up.
  • Strengthen production planning and material control by ensuring realistic production schedules, material readiness, WIP control, line feeding discipline, shortage escalation, inventory accuracy, and coordination with Purchasing.
  • Act as the manufacturing business owner for ERP/MES-related processes and data requirements, including routing, work centers, BOM interface, production orders, material consumption, downtime, output, manpower, WIP, OEE, quality loss, and production reporting.
  • Work closely with IT and related functions to improve ERP/MES usage, master data accuracy, production data reliability, reporting dashboards, user adoption, and digital workflow discipline within manufacturing.
  • Drive equipment performance improvement together with Maintenance through preventive maintenance discipline, breakdown reduction, equipment availability improvement, MTBF/MTTR tracking, spare parts readiness, and TPM/OEE improvement actions.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to implement process standards, technical changes, tooling/jig readiness, line layout improvement, cycle time optimization, and process capability improvement.
  • Work with QA/QC to strengthen in-process quality control, defect containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, rework reduction, and compliance with quality standards; ensure production teams do not bypass mandatory quality controls due to output pressure.
  • Work with HSE to maintain safe working conditions, enforce safety rules, control shopfloor risks, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, contractor management, and permit-to-work requirements.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, TPM, 5S, Kaizen, line balancing, standard work, visual management, Pareto, 5 Why, PDCA, A3, FACA, and other practical problem-solving methods.
  • Work closely with HR-GA and IE to improve labor productivity and OLE through manpower optimization, skill coverage, line balancing, standard work, and productivity tracking.
  • Lead manufacturing involvement in NPI, production launch, trial build, line upgrade, capacity expansion, and other production-related projects.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with other departments/divisions and senior management to remove operational constraints, resolve conflicts, and ensure smooth manufacturing execution.
  • Develop frontline managers, supervisors, shift leaders, and key talents to build a disciplined, accountable, data-driven, and system-oriented manufacturing culture.
