Overview
- Faculty: Faculty of Engineering
- Position: Lab Engineer
- Work location: Vietnamese – German University, Ring Road 4, Quarter 4, Thoi Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City (Old address: Ben Cat City, Binh Duong)
- Working time: 8:30 – 16:30 Monday - Friday
- Report to: Academic Coordinator for the Sustainable Process Engineering study program, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering
- Support the development, operation and success of the Laboratories relating to the Sustainable Process Engineering study program at VGU.
- Assist in teaching and proctoring (160 periods/year including lab work, exercises, seminars, tutoring and proctoring).
- Assist in research and prepare research proposals; work on assigned research projects and contribute to overall research of the group. From the second year, publish at least one research article per year in an academic journal (0.3–0.5 EIA required).
- Formulate and conduct tutorials and exercises in cooperation with the lecturer; support exam preparation, supervision and marking.
- Supervise all lab activities to ensure full compliance with health and safety instructions and guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and orderly lab environment at all times.
- Ensure operational safety of all machines, equipment and lab rooms.
- Manage laboratory consumables and prepare procurement requests for minor equipment.
- Maintain, repair and troubleshoot machines and equipment to ensure optimal and safe performance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily logs and lab activity record books.
- Provide guidance to students on the appropriate and safe use of laboratory facilities.
- Develop, set up and conduct laboratory experiments for SPE courses; assess laboratory reports as required.
- Assist students in projects including bachelor theses, in consultation with the supervisor.
- Support the procurement process of new equipment.
- Conduct acceptance tests for new equipment according to study program and VGU requirements.
- Act as invigilator for exams of all study programs if required.
- Participate in demonstrations and exhibitions at VGU events (Open Days, Education Fairs, Campus Tours, STEM activities, conferences, etc.).
- Implement other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
