Overview

  • Leadership and People Management
  • Provide strategic direction and day-to-day leadership to the CAC and Loan Operations teams.
  • Build a high-performance and customer-centric culture through effective coaching, mentoring, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Ensure adequate resource planning and workforce capacity to meet business demands and service level expectations.
  • Establish clear performance objectives and regularly assess team performance against agreed KPIs and productivity targets.
  • Foster continuous learning, cross-training, and knowledge-sharing within the department to strengthen operational resilience.
  • CAC and Loan Operations Management
  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of CAC and Loan Operations activities, including but not limited to facility documentation, conditions precedent fulfillment, limit loading, loan disbursement, maintenance, servicing, prepayment, repayment processing…
  • Ensure all transactions and activities are processed accurately, efficiently, and within agreed turnaround times while adhering to relevant policy and procedures.
  • Maintain robust controls over credit administration & control activities and loan lifecycle management
  • Ensure timely resolution of operational issues, customer inquiries, and transaction exceptions.
  • Monitor service quality and operational performance to deliver excellent customer and stakeholder experience.
  • Risk Management and Control
  • Maintain a strong operational risk and control framework across CAC and Loan Operations function.
  • Ensure compliance with UOB Group policies, procedures, risk governance standards, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, regulatory, conduct, and reputational risks.
  • Monitor and investigate operational incidents, process breaches, and control weaknesses, ensuring timely remediation and escalation where required.
  • Drive a strong culture of risk awareness, accountability, and control discipline within the team.
  • Governance, Compliance and Audit Management
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards governing credit administration & controls and lending operations.
  • Serve as the key liaison for Internal Audit, External Audit, Compliance, Risk Management, Assurance Management and regulatory examinations relating to the department.
  • Manage the timely closure of audit findings, management actions, and regulatory issues.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of processes, controls, and operating procedures to ensure continued effectiveness and compliance.
  • Operational Excellence and Transformation
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, service quality, and risk management.
  • Review existing processing workflows and procedures to identify opportunities for automation, digitalization, standardization, and process simplification.
  • Drive implementation of operational transformation programs and new technologies in partnership with Group and local stakeholders.
  • Support the Bank's strategic priorities through active participation in business, regulatory, and technology-related projects.
  • Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the department.
  • Stakeholder and Relationship Management
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders across Wholesale Banking, Personal Financial Services, Global Markets, Risk Management, Compliance, Finance, Legal, and other support functions.
  • Collaborate closely with Group teams to ensure alignment with Group standards, initiatives, and operational requirements.
  • Partner with business units to improve client service delivery while maintaining robust risk and control standards.
  • Provide timely operational support, guidance, and subject matter expertise to internal stakeholders.
  • Management Reporting and Performance Oversight
  • Monitor and report key operational, risk, service quality, and productivity metrics to senior management.
  • Analyze operational trends and management information to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement actions.
  • Ensure departmental performance objectives are achieved in line with agreed service standards and business goals.
  • Prepare and present periodic management updates, operational reviews, and governance reporting.
