Overview

  • Internal Grant Support
  • Support the design and implementation of internal research funding programs, including calls for proposals, application guidance, evaluation coordination, approvals, award processing, and institutional compliance.
  • Manage internal grant applications to ensure accuracy, transparency, fairness, and alignment with the University’s delegation of authority.
  • External Grant Support
  • Identify relevant national and international funding opportunities and provide end-to-end support for external grant applications, including donor requirement review, proposal editing, and submission.
  • Develop relationships with funding agencies and partner institutions and support the review and negotiation of grant agreements and contracts.
  • Research Project Monitoring
  • Monitor project progress, deliverables, reporting, and budget utilization in accordance with University policies and donor requirements.
  • Review budget reallocation requests, identify project risks, and work with researchers to implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Internal Funding and Budget Management
  • Support annual research budgeting and monitor internal funding, external research revenue, fund utilization, and Research Management Office expenditure.
  • Develop transparent funding allocation procedures and conduct analysis and reporting on the effectiveness and return on investment of internal funding programs.
  • Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure grant activities comply with University policies, funding agency requirements, and relevant financial, legal, and research integrity standards.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Legal, review financial and technical reports, maintain grant records and dashboards, and prepare routine and ad hoc reports for senior leadership.
  • Procurement and Logistics Coordination and Support
  • Oversee procurement processes, purchase orders, and service contracts for research activities, ensuring compliance and value for money.
  • Coordinate academic seminars, workshops, conferences, field trips, and visits by research leaders and institutional partners.
  • Capacity Building
  • Organize training on grant writing, budgeting, project management, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Develop tools, resources, and initiatives to strengthen institutional research management capacity.
