Overview
- Spartan is a venture studio building and scaling zero-to-one startups alongside founders from VC (YC, PearVC, a16z, BlingCap), Stanford, Uber, and Amazon. Every project operates like a mini-startup: small teams, fast feedback loops, and high ownership.
- As a QA Intern, you'll work on real production products shipped to real users, learn directly from QA engineers who've shipped at startup speed, and get exposure to AI-native QA workflows that most QA teams aren't doing yet.
- Hands-on Testing: Run functional, exploratory, and API testing on real products before they ship to users.
- Bug Hunting & Reporting: Investigate issues deeply, reproduce them reliably, and write bug reports clear enough that developers can fix without follow-up questions.
- Learn Risk-Based Thinking: Work alongside QA engineers to understand what to test, how much to test, and when a feature is good enough to ship.
- Collaborate Across the Team: Join standups, PRD reviews, and release calls. Ask questions, surface edge cases, and learn how startups make quality decisions in real time.
- Explore AI Testing: Get hands-on with modern tooling (LLM-assisted test generation, AI-powered exploratory testing) and contribute ideas on how we test AI features.
- Tools you'll learn
- QA workflow: Jira • Notion • Postman • Basic SQL (MySQL)
- Testing: Functional • API • Exploratory • Cross-browser/device
- Automation basics: Playwright or Cypress
- AI-native QA: LLM-assisted test generation, evals, prompt regression
