Overview
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of and take ownership of the School's safeguarding requirements, legal obligations, and international standards in accordance with CIS accreditation standards
- Conduct regular meetings with the Schools' Safeguarding Leads (SLs) to monitortheir activities and ensure alignment with the strategic direction of the School Board
- Monitor the Executive Management (Superintendent / SEDs) in their management of and response to allegations of child abuse to ensure strict compliance with international child safeguarding standards, and provide independent compliance reports to the School Board Chair.
- Ensure that findings and recommendations from external safeguarding reviews (including CIS accreditation reviews), self-evaluations, and inspections are incorporated into the strategic plan and implementation plans.
- Monitor and periodically evaluate system-wide progress in embedding a safer school culture, and ensure objective evaluation reports are presented to the School Board and the School Owner.
- Manage and digitise the School Board Policy Manual within the ITA document management system under the Board's direction
- Collect approved Governance Policy revisions from the School Board, update the official Board repository, and coordinate the formal governance issuance process (signatures, seals) to ensure systemic alignment
- Conduct on-site compliance audits to verify the implementation of governance policies across school campuses in accordance with the procedures published in the ITA document management system, following the Superintendent's submission of the Compliance Report.
- Prepare and submit a bilingual written Compliance Audit Report to the School Board via email for review and endorsement
- Draft the annual Board agenda based on established governance practices, coordinating under the direction of the School Board Chair and in consultation with the Superintendent to finalise the content.
- Establish the annual Board meeting schedule in consultation with the Superintendent and the School Board Chair
- Provide accurate bilingual simultaneous (booth) interpreting or consecutive interpreting for all official School Board meetings.
- Prepare draft bilingual Minutes of Meeting (MoM), coordinate the approval process with the School Board Chair, and circulate the approved Minutes to School Board members no later than 48 hours before the next Board meeting.
