Overview

  • Handle filing, prosecution, status tracking, and renewal across trademarks, industrial designs, patents, and copyright in international markets — including clearance searches, keeping track of application status, and paying maintenance/renewal fees on time.
  • Keep the IP portfolio in good shape — tracking deadlines, reviewing what to maintain or newly file, and flagging anything that needs attention.
  • Support IP enforcement on e-commerce platforms — monitoring for infringement, handling takedowns, and coordinating with external counsel and authorities to resolve cases.
  • Assist in reviewing and negotiating IP clauses in commercial contracts (licensing, distribution, and manufacturing agreements), helping to flag IP risk.
  • Provide day-to-day IP support to internal teams on campaigns, product launches, partnerships, and general questions.
  • Must-have
  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or above — e.g., from a University of Law or a Law–Economics program.
  • 2–5+ years of overall legal experience, with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on IP experience (either in-house or at a law firm).
  • Good understanding of IP fundamentals — Trademark, Industrial Design, Patent, and Copyright — ideally backed by specialized IP training (e.g., courses from the National Office of Intellectual Property (IP Vietnam) or WIPO).
  • Experience preparing and filing IP applications (trademark, design, patent, or copyright) — this is a core part of the role.
  • Advanced English proficiency, for direct communication with international IP partners, platforms, and external counsel.
  • Resilient, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Nice-to-have
  • IP Agent qualification or a lawyer credential (Bar admission).
  • Prior in-house experience in DTC e-commerce, fashion, or cross-border commerce.
  • Experience with IP enforcement on e-commerce platforms, including takedown processes and brand protection tools.
  • Familiarity with trademark and design searches on databases such as USPTO and WIPO.
  • Experience using AI tools to support IP tasks (e.g., clearance searches, document drafting, portfolio tracking).
  • Keeps up quickly with changes and news in the IP field, and has a genuine interest in IP.
