  • PropNex is one of Singapore's largest real estate agencies. We are building its new public property portal, where home buyers, sellers and tenants search for homes to buy or rent with rich filters or on an interactive map. They can see listing and project details, past transactions and price trends, browse new launches and auctions, find and compare agents, get an instant home valuation and track…
  • Design, build and maintain the REST APIs in PHP 8 (Slim) that power every part of the portal.
  • Model data in MySQL and write efficient, hand-tuned SQL for search with many filters, sorting and pagination.
  • Build map-based search that stays fast as users pan and zoom across the island.
  • Integrate with PropNex's internal systems and third-party services, and build scheduled jobs that keep listings, projects and agent data up to date.
  • Build secure account features (sign-up, sign-in, profiles, saved listings, search history), protect public endpoints from abuse and keep user data safe.
  • Build pages and features in Next.js (App Router), React and TypeScript, turning designs into responsive, accessible UI with Tailwind CSS and a shared component library.
  • Own SEO and page speed: server rendering, metadata, canonical URLs, sitemaps and Core Web Vitals.
  • Find and fix performance problems across the stack: slow queries, heavy responses, memory use and caching.
  • Take features from requirement to release: API contract, database, UI, CI/CD deployment to staging and production, and production monitoring.
  • Lead technical design for new features, write automated tests, and mentor other engineers through code reviews and pairing.
  • Work with product, design and the business team in Singapore, and keep technical docs and API specs up to date.

Yêu cầu

  • 1. Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2. Experience
  • 5–8 years building and shipping web applications on both the backend and the frontend, including at least 2 years of production work with Next.js. Experience in proptech or real estate is a plus.
  • 3. Technical Skills
  • a) Software Development
  • Backend: PHP 8 and OOP; a micro-framework (Slim, Lumen, Symfony components or similar); REST API design; OAuth2/JWT
  • Frontend: React, TypeScript, Next.js (App Router, SSR/SSG), HTML, CSS, Tailwind CSS
  • Database: MySQL schema design, indexes, query optimisation and transactions; hand-written SQL rather than an ORM; Redis caching
  • DevOps: Docker, Linux, CI/CD
  • Tools: Git, browser dev tools, the command line
  • b) Backend Engineering
  • You build APIs that stay fast and reliable as data and traffic grow.
  • Write efficient SQL for complex search, filtering and pagination
  • Integrate third-party APIs, handling timeouts, retries and errors
  • Build scheduled jobs that keep data in sync
  • Profile and fix slow queries, heavy responses and memory problems
  • Secure user accounts and public endpoints
  • c) Frontend Engineering
  • You turn designs into fast, accessible pages that rank well in search.
  • Build responsive, accessible UI from designs
  • Handle server data and complex forms (TanStack Query, React Hook Form, Zod)
  • Design proper loading, empty and error states
  • Implement technical SEO: server rendering, metadata, sitemaps
  • Improve page speed and Core Web Vitals
  • Work with component libraries such as shadcn/ui
  • These will help you hit the ground running.
  • Map-based or geospatial search; the Google Maps JavaScript API
  • Firebase
  • AWS, Nginx, GitHub Actions
  • Automated testing (PHPUnit, Jest, Playwright)
  • Using AI coding tools (such as Claude Code) in daily work
  • Proptech experience or knowledge of Singapore property (HDB, condo, landed, new launches)
  • 4. Soft Skills
  • Takes ownership of a problem and follows it through to production
  • Writes clear code and clear messages
  • Asks questions early and suggests better ways of doing things
  • Mentors others and gives constructive code reviews
  • Works well independently with a team in another country
  • Good written English for specs, pull requests and day-to-day chat
