  • The Data Engineer builds and runs the data platform behind VinFast's business: ingesting vehicle telemetry, dealer and after-sales data, and unstructured sources such as logs, documents and media, modelling them into trusted marts, and serving analytics and AI use cases.   • Build and run ingestion and transformation pipelines that move data from object storage (S3) through raw, staging and mart layers, using Apache Airflow and Apache Spark.
  • Ingest, parse and process unstructured data (e.g. free text, documents, logs, images, audio and video): extract metadata and structured attributes, and land the results in the raw, staging and mart layers so they can be queried and used by analysts and AI use cases.
  • Design dimensional models (facts, slowly changing dimensions) in dbt on ClickHouse, with tests, documentation and clear grain.
  • Operate on a multi-shard ClickHouse cluster: choose engines, partitioning and sharding keys, and write queries and loads that stay correct and fast across shards.
  • Promote pipelines across environments (dev, staging, production) with environment-specific configuration, no hard-coded values, and a clear rollback.
  • Protect data: apply access controls and privacy rules for personal data, and support erasure requests.
  • Keep data trustworthy: implement data-quality checks, lineage and metadata in a data catalog (OpenMetadata or similar), including for unstructured datasets, and write runbooks that others can follow.
  • Review code, write tests, and document decisions; work in small, reviewable merge requests with tests before merge, and production changes going through approval.
  • Work with DevOps, analysts, data scientists and business stakeholders to turn requests into precise requirements; help keep pipelines green and fix root causes, not symptoms.

Yêu cầu

  • Technical knowledge
  • Strong SQL (window functions, incremental logic, performance tuning) and Python (typed, tested, packaged code).
  • Hands-on Apache Airflow (2.x or 3.x): DAG design, scheduling, retries and idempotency, no heavy work at parse time.
  • Hands-on Apache Spark (PySpark): partitioning, joins and shuffles, deduplication and windowing on large datasets.
  • dbt experience: models, tests, incremental strategies, documentation.
  • Working knowledge of a columnar analytical database (ClickHouse preferred; others such as BigQuery, Snowflake or Redshift are fine if you can learn ClickHouse quickly).
  • Hands-on experience processing unstructured data (e.g. free text, documents, logs, images, audio, video) at scale: parsing and extraction, metadata and schema handling, file-format and partitioning choices on object storage, and turning the output into structured, queryable datasets.
  • Comfort with cloud object storage (AWS S3), IAM concepts and secrets handling.
  • Git and merge-request workflow, CI/CD basics, and the discipline to separate environments.
  • Kubernetes (running Spark or Airflow on EKS or similar), Helm, GitOps.
  • Dimensional modelling (Kimball) and slowly changing dimensions.
  • Data governance: catalog, lineage, classification, personal-data compliance (GDPR-style).
  • Time-series or IoT/telemetry data at scale; automotive, manufacturing or after-sales domain knowledge.
  • Experience with distributed-table design, replication and large backfills.
  • Experience preparing unstructured data for AI/ML use cases (e.g. text, image or audio datasets, embeddings, vector search).
  • Experience working with AI coding assistants and reviewing their output critically.
  • Education & experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of data engineering experience in production.
  • Clear written English; you document what you build and say what you verified and what you did not.
