- Prepare detailed cost estimates based on BOMs for new products, supporting the Pricing team in setting competitive prices.
- Work with the Project Management team to negotiate prices, MOQ, delivery schedules, and payment terms with suppliers.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and risks, and provide recommendations to improve product profitability.
- Prepare monthly reports on sales, costs, and business performance.
- Analyze standard costs versus actual costs and investigate significant cost variances.
- Review factory cost sheets to validate costs and support purchasing decisions.
- Develop and maintain product buy costs based on customer requirements, BOMs, and technical specifications.
- Monitor cost changes and assess their impact on margins and profitability.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Production, Technical, and Purchasing teams to resolve cost-related issues during product development and production.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 2 - 3 years of experience in cost estimation or manufacturing engineering.
- Experience in semiconductor equipment, precision machining, or contract manufacturing is preferred.
- Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong understanding of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and mechanical assembly.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, macros).
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple RFQs or projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong English communication and presentation skills, including reporting to senior management.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and cost estimation tools is a plus.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
